BECAS MARIE CURIE

New vacancies in the frames of BIORESC Marie Curie Transfer of Knowledge project at the Mammal Research Institute,
Polish Academy of Sciences, in Bialowieza, Poland.
We are currently offering short 1 to 4 Post-Doc/Professor fellowships (each from 2 to 6 months)
to join our research team before 30 June 2010 (end of project) in one of the following profiles:
(1) population/conservation genetics;
(2) mathematical modelling and advanced statistics in ecology and biogeography;
(3) GIS applications in ecology, genetics and biogeography.
The positions are open from 1 September, 2009.
Candidates must:
(1) possess a PhD;
(2) have 4 years of research experience since gaining a university diploma giving access to doctoral studies;
(3) be profient in English.

Candidates must be non-Polish citizens. At the start of the fellowships,
researchers may not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc)
in Poland for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the start date.
The evaluation criteria embrace:
(1) scientific skills, especially the interdisciplinary approach and ability to combine various methods in ecological studies;
(2) number and quality of published scientific papers;
(3) experience in work with high-quality research teams;
(4) reference letters.
The recruited fellows will:
(1) Join the on-going research projects at MRI PAS in the respective fields and widen their scopes and methods with the new knowledge.
(2) Deliver a series of lectures and seminars (one per month per fellow) for the staff, students, invited researchers, and other guests of MRI PAS.
The fellows will receive allowances according to the rates set by the European Commission.
Basic gross salary amounts to 3474 Euro/month for the Post-Doc and 5211 Euro/month for Professor.
Additionally, researchers receive mobility allowance (444 Euro/month or 710 Euro/month if with family),
and travel allowance (approx. 500-1000 Euro/year, based on the distance between Bialowieza and their place of origin).
The application should be written in English and should include: CV, list of publications, copy of PhD diploma,
copies of no more than five recent scientific publications, maximum one-page description of former research and
other activities of relevance to the position (e.g. approved external grants), and names of at least two reference persons.

BECAS POSTDOCTORALES EN GENÓMICA .Convoca: NOVARTIS.

Objeto: Conceder 1 beca-contrato en el "Centre de Regulació Genòmica"(CRG) ubicado en Barcelona,
